A great way for college students to stay in style without spending a fortune is simple: accessorizing. This fall, go for the basics; plain, fitted t-shirts, cardigans, jeans, etc. It may not sound glamorous at first, but after you add some chunky gold necklaces and riding boots from Lorenz (downtown Iowa City) you’ll be turning heads in chemistry lecture. Not a fan of boots? Make a statement with a pair of red ‘Toms’ shoes from Active Endeavors. Not only are they cute, but they are also for a great cause. For every pair of ‘Toms’ bought a new pair of shoes gets donated to a child in need. Walk proud in your red ‘Toms’ just as celebrity, Mila Kunis does.
My favorite find this fall was from Iowa City’s own Cheap&Chic downtown. A well-established brand, ‘Deux Lux,’ produced the most adorable wristlet. Small enough to not get in the way while dancing downtown, but large enough to hold your phone, money, and I.D this discovery is worth the $18 (marked down from $38!).
If you have not yet stopped in Four Seasons in the Old Capitol mall, I suggest you do so. This store is constantly getting new merchandise to keep us college kids in style! You can find all your Vera Bradley needs here as well as ‘Miss Me’ jeans. Want a special hint? Look on page 100 of your Campus Special Coupon Book for 25% off a single item!
Keep in mind there are plenty of places in Iowa City to keep Hawkeyes in style so check back often for more great tips!
